Meredith Arksey - violin : retired in 20211 from twenty five years of teaching at Washington State University in Pullman, Washington. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degree in violin performance from the University of Michigan where she was a student of Camilla Wicks, and string pedagogy graduate teaching assistant under Robert Culver. She received her doctorate in violin performance from Michigan State University where she was a student of I-Fu Wang. Since 1989 she has been a violinist in the Silver Bay String Quartet. From 1996 until 2021 she was the violinist in the Palouse Tio and performed frequently as a soloist and chamber musician. She is a National ASTACAP Adjudicator and has served as clinician / adjudicator at numerous competitions and master classes.


Padua Canty - viola: graduated from The Shepherd School of Music at Rice University, completing her Master of Music degree as Teaching Assistant to professor Ivo-Jan van der Werff. She earned her Bachelor of Music, summa cum laude, fromm Arizona State University studying with Nancy Buck. An avid chamber musician, Ms. Canty has worked with members of the Juilliard String Quartet, Tokyo String Quartet, Brentano String Quartet, Saint Lawrence String Quartet, Medici String Quartet, Cleveland Quartet, and Concord String Quartet. Ms. Canty currently directs a violin program in the Seattle area and performs as a violist in The Northweest Sinfonietta.


Andrea Chandler, cello: enjoys being a member of the Silver Bay String Quartet for many years. She received a degree in cello performance from the University of Washington where she was selected as the Brechemin Scholar and was a student of Tobey Saks. She also studied cello at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester England, and at the Banff School of the Arts. For four years she was a member of the Gulbenkian Orchestra in Lisbon, Portugal. After returning to the U.S. she performed in the Vermont Symphony. She is currently a cellist in the Pacific Northwest Ballet Orchestra where she has been a member for the past 26 years. She teaches privately and frequently coaches youth symphonies and music camps.


Chloe Groth: violin: earned a Bachelors of Music in Violin performance and Master of Music Teaching at Oberlin Conservatory of Music, studying Gregory Fulkerson and Marilyn McDonald. Chloe resides in New Orleans with her husband and two young children. Along with leading and teaching her Suzuki program, Streetcar Suzuki Violin School, she is a frequent orchestral performer and currently plays as a substitute with the Louisianna Philharmonic Orchestra and is a member of the Versipel New Music Collective. At Oberlin Conservatory she served as Concertmaster of the Oberlin Chamber Orchestra and the Contemporary Music Ensemble and performed regularly with the Isis String Quartet. Chloe will be moving with her family to Connecticut this summer and is pleased she will be living closer to Silver Bay.
