The Grenchus Foundation ~ Lo que vendrá (A. Piazzolla) by Carla Campopiano Trio
Who Was A. Piazzolla?
Astor Piazzolla (1921–1992) was an Argentine tango composer and bandoneón player. His oeuvre revolutionised the traditional tango into a new style termed nuevo tango, incorporating elements from jazz and classical music.
When he was 12, he began taking lessons with Hungarian classical pianist Bela Wilda, who taught him, among other things, how to play Bach on the bandoneón. A student of Rachmaninov, Wilda happened to live next door, and Piazzolla was entranced by the sounds that emanated from his home
