Recommendations we made to World Leaders, Religious Leaders, Relief Organizations, et al.

All immigrants are to be treated with human dignity and respect. Given the fires that occurred in Greece our recommendations for the care for all immigrants and for immigration reform follows below: Recognize the pandemic is an occasion to actually bring human dignity to people, and to change the unjust systems and unjust things currently present in the world… and eliminate them… bringing forward a better existence for humanity, a better quality of life, and for ALL PEOPLE to be treated with human dignity and respect. This was stated multiple times throughout the pandemic and before the fire was present in the overfilled refugee camps.

All immigrants should be given housing. Given the pandemic, and that the majority of hotels are closed, as well as the fact that refugees do not have adequate housing, are forced to live in overcrowded facilities where injustice is beyond present… the recommendation is and has been to house immigrants in hotels…. to close all detention facilities… and use those facilities as either intake places to give immigrants proper documentation for citizenship as well as to establish them with benefits, food, healthcare etc… the other recommendation for the detention facilities was to use them as places to hold supplies for natural disasters, so that there are natural disaster facility locations throughout each country that would actually be able to handle the natural disasters that occur in them …. and they will have a place to store supplies that would help overcome the natural disasters.

In any case, immigrants are to be given temporary housing in hotels, where they would also be able to quarantine, if they needed to quarantine, as well as have a place to live while all the other benefits are put into place as they transition from one country to another. This includes them receiving legal documentation (visa etc), food, job placement, healthcare, and a new appropriate housing accommodation — all of which countries should be providing as immigrants begin to have job placement and transition into a new place to live.

Immigrants are not to be given temporary housing in tents, as tents do not accommodate for the full needs of refugees or migrants, especially during a pandemic. They should also not be put in detention facilities/ detention or concentration camps or immigrant camps, as the number of abuses in detention facilities have increased, and they do not actually provide for the full needs of migrants as they are actually transitioning from country to country.

All refugee camps and detention facilities are to be closed. The budgets for each country should accommodate for an influx of migrants and refugees etc. At the same time, individual countries should be providing for their citizens and improving their own economics and treatment of people within their countries, so that not as many people need to emigrate. During the pandemic, all countries will have to help other countries as things occur ~ for example - in the case of both disasters in Lebanon and Greece: we advocated for other countries to send in medical supplies, food, relief materials etc… for relief groups to be given access to areas, especially when individual militia or military groups were and are preventing aid and help from being present in the countries or locations and for the people.

It was also recommended that additional hospitals be opened or portable hospital tents be flown in, or transportable hospitals - on ships etc…. be sent to help with relief efforts. It was also recommended that military personnel outside of that country help with the relief efforts or get supplies there (as it was also recommended that each countries military personnel be used within that country to help with relief efforts, vaccination distribution and administration etc.) - when other relief efforts cannot do it - example: US military Chinooks that can fly over supplies should be used, as well as other military modes of transport that can get supplies to people who need them quickly - in the case of the pandemic and natural disasters. These recommendations were not only made to the United States, but to all countries. We are all in this pandemic together, so every country needs to work with others- in cooperation - and collaborate with the other countries to get people what they need so the pandemic ends faster, in each region and country. Every case of injustice against other people during this time - causes the pandemic to continue longer.

Additionally, during the pandemic, a nuclear ban treaty should be put in place, so that nuclear warfare cannot be used to wipe out countries and populations, especially during a pandemic. In addition to this, there should be a global ceasefire in place as the pandemic is being solved. No country should be in a state of violence at this time, as every country needs to work together to overcome the pandemic, in order for vaccines to be administered and in order for medical supplies, food and whatever other supplies are needed etc… to get into each country and get to the people who need them.

In the case of Greece the additional recommendations were made below:
