2024 Summer Arts Season: Carla Campopiano and Horacio Martinez Live Performance #1

Carla Campopiano is an Argentine flutist and Composer specializing in tango and Latin American Music. She has developed a career in the US for a decade leading and accompanying varied ensembles of world music. Carla performed in several stages in Argentina, US and Europe. She attended the “Escuela de Música Popular de Avellaneda”. Since 2018 she has directed Carla Campopiano trio a project in collaboration with Gustavo Cortiñas, the project aims to build bridges of communication between cultures. She is currently working in several projects, her most recent works were her last albums Chicago Buenos Aires Connections and Carla Campopiano Trio, both composed by jazz, tango and Latin American Repertoire. Horacio Martinez is an Argentinian multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer, and arranger. From an early age, he toured Latin America with the UNESCO choir (EMA) and various ensembles. In 2006, he performed at the Honoris Causa for Mercedes Sosa in Mendoza, Argentina. In 2010, Horacio won the Pre-Cosquin festival in Mendoza. He performed at the Festival Nacional de la Vendimia in 2011 and 2012. From 2008-2012, Horacio was also a member of the award-winning group Markama and performed with symphonic orchestras. He traveled to China with the UN Singers in 2017. That same year, he toured Europe promoting his solo album, De Jujuy a Brooklyn, and recorded for Residente’s singles Hoy and Yo te quiero a ti. Horacio has recorded three albums and produced music for films, dancers, and other artists. He lives in New York, where he has his music production studio and leads the music ministry at St. Peter's Church. He currently works as a teaching artist at Carnegie Hall.
